20mg but I think made me tired by afternoon and maybe gained weight unless that’s from menopause

Started on Dec 28th about two and a half months ago. I feel a lot better. I am on 40 mg I had to increase from 20 because it just wasn't enough. I cried all the time, I was a basket case. Now, I can't cry for little things. I do get irritated and I have as many "up" days as I do down ones. But the down days are not as low as they were. I would call them average or normal now.
Hope this helps!

Hi Diane,
I started mid-December last year and am just shy of 12 weeks now. After a very bad, stressful year I started having rolling panic attacks to the point I thought i was having or getting ready to have a heart attack. I was told that the body can only handle so much stress and then it manifests in all types of physical ways. Some get headaches or ulcers as an example, for me it was anxiety. Doc gave me anti-anxiety drug and I laid on the couch for the next week in a drugged stupor. I then started Prozac. I was off work for 7 weeks. The side effects were the worst for me during weeks 3 and 5. After that I started making slow progress. Life still happens and I do however still have days where my anxiety is elevated, but not at the point of an attack. One of these symptoms is a buzzing in my head. I still have fatigue especially in the afternoon and am working on finding a balance so that I can stay well. Watch sugar, alcohol, and eating junk. Good nutrition, rest, and exercise has helped me too.
This is a slow drug, so be patient and give it time to do its thing. Post here often. Lots of experience here and I've been helped tremendously.
For me, Prozac has been very helpful in getting my life back.
