I am scheduled to have surgery in two weeks for reclocele prolapse. I've read some of your posts and still am in the dark on somethings. After surgery it sounds like I will have inner packing and a catherier. How long is the catherier in for and when is the packing removed? How does one walk with the catherier and since I'm assuiming it's still in place when going home, what is there to look for so there is no infection? Besides rest, no lifting, and no straining, what else did you have to do? I have read no sitting or standing for more than 2 hrs at a time. Is it uncomfortable to sit? I am hearing 6 to 8 weeks recovery time. Is there bledding afterwards, for how long, and isn't wearing a pad uncomfortable? I have a pre-op with a nurse tomorrow and will probably get some information, but I'm new on this and any information you can give would be appreciated. Thanks!

The only thing I would point out as the other ladies have said is a stool softener is advisable. I had a bad time with trapped wind after as well so stock up on lactulose, peppermint and windeze tabs!!!
I am 5 days post op and although still feel quite tired I'm fine and so much comfier when I walk around. Very little bleeding and managing pain with just paracetamol and naproxen.
good luck with your surgery, rest and take care xxxx
