Rectocele repair

I had a rectocele repair six weeks ago and it seems the stitches still haven't dissolved... Does anyone know if this is normal?

    I am almost six weeks past my op and still no sign of any stitches. The week before Christmas I developed a severe urine/bladder infection and thrush. Been on antibiotics and thrush pessary and cream. Still got slight bleeding and also a vague odour. My G.P. is not best pleased that we are sent home from hospital with not very good aftercare and no follow up appointment at the hospital. Have got appointment to see the nurse next week to take some swabs to rule out any other infection,then my doc is going to ring the hospital and give them a blast !! Good for him.Want to feel normal again rather than feeling sore down there all the time. Thought I'd be back to normal by now if all the hospital information they hand out was to be believed. Hope all you other ladies are feeling much better by now
