Red dots around the base of my penis

I have had these little red dots around the base of my penis for a couple days now. They started out as just a couple but more came. They are a little bit itchy but not that much. I've been freaking out about it please help me.

    Looks like folliculitis or razor rash, which is rarely a real problem.  Personally, I wouldn't see a doctor about it, and I'd be surprised if it didn't clear up in the next 2-3 days.

      Thank you for the reply I had it before I shaved which is why I wouldn't think that it would be ingrown hair. I decided to shave it wait one night and then if it hasn't improved by tomorrow then i'll go to the doctor. Again thanks i've been thinking that it is herpes and freaking out.

      You can get folliculitis without ingrown hairs, but I'd assumed that you got the spots after shaving.  If they were there before, then it could just be a rash, especially if you've been hot and sweaty down there, or wearing tight non-absorbent underwear.

      Pics in sharper focus would help.  I doubt it's any STI, and I still think it will probably just go away, but are you sexually active?
