Hi all. I was on 40mg's of Cit and 2 weeks ago I decided to start reducing by 5 mg's every 2 weeks. I felt really good for a few days and today I started to feel crappy when I reduced to 30 mg's. I saw my doc and he told me that was a good way to reduce. This is the same guy who said there were no side effects on these meds. Lol. I have had a bit of insomnia and a little brain buzzing. Hope this is normal. I plan on reducing taking this med very slowly. I hate the way I feel on it. I thought after 9 months that I wud have felt better. I plan on working my way down to 20 and stay there awhile and then work my way down to nothing. I exercise daily and I'm convinced it helps. I also watch what I eat. Just wondering if anyone else is reducing and what they are experiencing. Hopefully this crappy feelings dont last too long. Enjoy youre day everyone.

It can take an extended period to reduce down from 40mg it can take longer than getting used to them in the first place, so if you feel so crappy return to a half dose of the higher dose for a while
I find this medication is quite good when I consider the coshes I used to take. I have resigned myself being on them now for life although I feel as I get older I will need to take a half cut of the original dose as I have heard it can have stronger effects when we get older

Every 2 weeks might still be too quick. I reduced by 5mg but waited a month on each reduction, so though you're reducing gradually you need to slow down too to let your body adjust.

You could always wait until the yawns and buzzing has settled before going further?

Good day K. Once again thank you for the reply. I am actually trying that today. The doc suggested I try alternating doses but i''m hesitant to do that. Enjoy youre day.

I've not tried alternating doses - I just figured if I was reducing then I'd take a tiny bit less each day.
Hope it goes ok.

Sorry to hear today hasn't been so good. It will pass - just a bit unpleasant at the time. Try getting lots of sleep (if you can), eat healthily and some exercise helps too. If it gets too bad, then just go back to the previous dose for a while and let it settle, and maybe reduce even less? My last dose was 1.25mg and was just a few grains on the end of my finger (I often wondered if I was actually taking anything as could hardly see it) 😏

Hi again K. If it wasnt for the buzzing and the headaches then this would be a grand ole day. Lol. They hurt like a son of a sea cook!!!! I have been on 30mg's since last thursday. Was on 35 for 2 weeks prior to that. If I keep feeling like this I plan on going to 32 1/2 for a little while. Just want to feel normal again. Darn I'm not sure I know what that is anymore. Lol. I plan on even incorporating a bit of yoga in my daily activities. I read that it can be good for depression. You enjoy youre evening and thanks for listening!!!!

K. I have never been sensitive to meds b4. Guess theres a first time for everything. Hope these feelings subside soon. Hate the feeling. Was thinking of taking 2 /12 mg's more today but i'll try toughing it out. Bound to get better, right. Enjoy youre day.
