Hi I've been suffering with globus ( lump on throat feeling) since January . I had an endoscopy and it showed no inflammation or any other problems so my consultant just told me to take over the counter medication when needed. This is the problem I don't burp anything up so is it reflux. My doctor is a bit at a loss . We have tried nasal spray incase it was post nasal drip, gaviscon normal and advanced incase it was relux . Throat swab for infection , thyroid test and lastly now I am off to see ENT for checks for LPR... Would I know if I had reflux . I've heard about silent reflux so I've raised my bed up, don't wat after 7 ( go to bed about 11) I take gaviscon before I go to bed to be on the safe side but nothing works . I don't eat fatty or processed food, don't drink or smoke so I have no idea what it is. I am waiting for a peptest saliva test to arrive so I can check to see if there is any pepcin in my saliva . Anyone any tips or ideas?

I would be happy to share what I know, because I suffered from acid reflux so badly for 5 weeks. One of the things that really helped and you'll know if you have acid reflux if you try this. It's not fun but it does work. And it doesn't hurt anything. You take 2 tablespoons of organic vinegar and you mix it with a glass of water. And if you find that you are better after drinking this you will know that it's acid reflux. The Globus in your throat will dissipate. Pretty quickly. The other thing you can try is look carefully at all of your medications that you're taking and see, what the side effects are on any of those medications. What I discovered was that the gabapentin at 300 milligrams was the culprit for me. But, I went through not only the prescription of next to him that's 40 milligrams along with other over the counter medications and I'm talking a lot, and none of it was working other than the vinegar and water mix. It doesn't solve anything other than take away your discomfort for the time being until you eat your next meal. If you feel that your stomach has churning sensation and the acid is coming up in your throat then the vinegar + water will immediately take care of that problem. It takes some adjusting to get used to it but it works really well. You can add some lemon drops from fresh lemon and that will also help. The other thing that will help if you are if you do have acid reflux, is to drink a lot of fresh juice. the misnomer, acid reflux which it is a misnomer, it's because too much acid in your stomach is actually a good thing because what's happening is that the pH in your digestion is off balance if it is acid reflux. So the other thing you can try is probiotics and that will also help get your stomach back in good order and that will help the acid reflux as well. You want at least 10 billion if possible live cultures with a probiotic pill before you eat. Let me know if any of these work for you. I sure hope you can get your situation resolved quickly. PS I also had and oscopy so I am familiar with that procedure as well.
