Regular heart rhythm but abnormal range

So I've been battling chest pain, shortness of breath and a host of other symptoms that suggest a cardiac related issue (strange in an 18 year old but whatever) so my latest exam was a 24 hour ecg. I discussed the results with the doctor who said your heart rhythm is acceptable but where you indicated experiencing pain your heart rate sped up or slowed down (between 50(?)and 160 beats). I have my next hospital appointment Wednesday but would like to know if anyone has any suggestions of what's going on?
