UGH! Had a very busy weekend walking but at PT today couldn’t get to 110 which I was able to do last week. So frustrating but will keep trying. It’s all I can do. 6.5 week’s post.
Also, have a little redness near incision don’t think infected but wish it wasn’t there.

Thanks I am trying to do the work. I am not as tolerant to pain as some so I am sad I just can't suck it up more. Today I didn't make PT because on head cold came on but remedying that and will be back at it next week. In the meantime I will continue he to do exercise and knee stretch the best I can until then.
Appreciate all the good comments.

At four weeks, I was still drooling on my pajamas... People just expect too much too fast. Thinking that maybe I should have had brain surgery instead...then I wouldn't give a damn...

Everyone has their own pain tolerance levels. Push yours to where you can both handle it AND derive benefit from the work. Push yourself a bit when you can. Lots of people take their meds an hour before PT to help them through a session...just need a ride there...no driving on opioids! Once you're further out post-op, you will look back and see the improvement you've made. Hard to see when you're deep inside the pain of the first month or two...maybe longer. Lots of people here notice a big jump in relief at around 3 months because all that initial Level 10 pain is usually gone and the opioids are a thing of the past...so is the difficult PT. Just takes time...

I did 10 weeks of PT @ 2X/weeks. Started at -14 / +84...finished at -1 / +123. However, it was difficult even though I've been through this torture many times before. Most of the exercises were fine but the stairs...could NOT get myself up to the next step on the new knee because my quad was dead. Stairs are the toughest and usually the last thing to master after a TKR.
The most painful part was breaking down the scar tissue. First, PT put my heel up on a 4" block and then just pushed down and held my knee there for 10 seconds...7 or 8 times. Think of the chest waxing scene in the movie The 40-Year-Old Virgin... After that, I'd lay on my stomach with my knees on the edge of the table, lowering my leg until it just hung there over the edge. Gravity is a b**ch... Then try it with a 2# ankle weight on. But it all worked...got great ROM results.
If you have trouble with the pain, take your meds 1 hour before a session...helps. Just gotta break down that scar tissue or you'll never walk normally again...

So much? You have no idea... Friday, I'm having a torn ligament in my right wrist fixed. It will be my 29th operation in the last 18 years...got almost five pounds of metal in me already with one knee to go...and I'll be 70 in February. It all started when I was 50 and my now-ex-wife got me an AARP card. Except for tonsils at 7, I had never been in a hospital in my life. Within 18 months of getting that damn card, everything fell apart...well, yes...there was the 45+ years of playing hockey...but... Now my wife wants to get us back into skiing...right...on what other planet? There are days that I just want to lay down and be turned into Soylent Green...
