Reproductive Depression

So I am not sure if other women have looked into this but I have recently and its very eye opening.

Dr. Studd is one of the leading people to approach depression from a hormonal view, in that much of our depression can and does stem from hormonal events during the course of our lives.

menarche/pms/postnatal/peri/menopause

I know for me personally it makes sense. I've not suffered from depression in my life except during major hormonal shifts. (post partum/pms and now this sentence im serving)

Any thoughts from those wonderful ladies serving the like..?

I totally agree. My depression 2 yrs. came out of no where. Hated everything and everyone. Cried and felt bad for nearly 6 mos. It affected my appetite, disrupted my marriage and just overall quality of life. Felt sorry for myself, that nobody cared or understood my problems, and was hoping to die.

Somehow, I managed to get out of my funk. Antidepressants didn't help me. It was mind over matter. I had to get a handle on my emotions and get control of my life again. I think taking vitamins , going back to the gym, and hanging back out with my friends helped me. Took about 6 mos. I still get bouts of depression and feel angry at times, but not nearly where I was. It was a very dark time I never want to be in again.

      Thanks Didi

It looks as though you have been here a while. Im hoping i get out of it, but not sure if possible.

I'm doing everything possible just as you mentioned above, but will keep trying. Mind over matter.

I am not sure if its possible when you are chemically tapped out of whatever it is i'm missing.

My hope is that im able to figure it out for myself or someone can help find the missing piece of the puzzle.

      Thanks again for your words
