I recently put a post in here how i was suffering with pain and extreme tiredness. Well i went to the docs to see what he had to say. First he said it was my weight, yes i need to loose a lot of weight, then when i said yes i know my weight wont help but i know me and this is more than my weight and that i thought it could be fibro he reluctantly said he thought it could be pmr. i told him that had already been ruled out and that the symptons were very similar. he then sent me for blood tests. plus diagnosed me with carpel tunnel in my right hand.

The results are in vit d level normal, glucose level normal, cholesterol level normal, thyroid normal and inflamation levels are normal.

Could it still be fibro?

It certainly sounds like it...a referral to a Rhumotologist would be very beneficial , they are usually the ones who diagnose Fibro...have a lovely day AliBear, try not to stress, it's the worst thing ever for Fibro pain....be blessed.,:-) xxx

    Hi AliBear

Yes, It could still be fibro.  Rheumatologist can confirm this. Stay calm and positive as stress can aggrevate the pains further. Take a day at a time and hopefully you will get confirmation soon.

Thanks for your update.  wink x

Bloods would be normal with fibro perhaps with the exception of low vit D.

I was diagnosed with carpel tunnel and had surgery which made no difference because it wasn't carpel tunnel! Easy to find out whether it is CT by having nerve conduction test done.    Suggest you ask for a referral to rheumatology and see what they have to say. Unfortunately there is no quick route to diagnosis as it is a case of ruling out everything else.  My weight escalated because the pain was so bad I couldn't move around. I  have the pain more or less under control now by alternative therapies so the weight is gradually coming off but it is a vicious circle.   Hang on in there and this forum is just a click away if you need support and advice from any of the fibro folk here.

AliBear,You have to ask the doctor that did the test if it could still be Fibrom.

I never knew your blood work could tell you your "inflammation" level.Mine must be off the charts, thats interesting-have to inquire a question to my PCP on that new piece of information.

    Thanks,Elaine
