Return of intrusive thoughts, please help

hi. i was on sertraline for nearly 18 months and felt they were no longer working so the dr changed me to mirtazapine. these did nlt agree at all so iput myself back on sertraline but only on 25mg. i went to the dr last week amd she wants me to try venlafaxine. i was hoping to try to just stay on a low dose of sertraline but the last 24 hours ny intrusive thoughts have returned with avengence so i was after some advice. do i try venlafaxine or up my sertraline? any advice greatly received as I cant go on like this. thank you
