Hiya my fine hippie friends...
Had my RTHR Oct 5th, all had gone really well with recovery etc, had my follow up last week and surgeon was happy. Thing is my left hip now is giving more pain than a couple of months back, I've seen on x-ray's on my last appointment that it's not good, I was hoping to have a good year enjoying my new hip, and all the things I've put on hold over the last 18 months. 😁
Has anyone has similar problem, ie nice new hip, everything going good, then other hip wants to join the party...😀🤔 Guess this might be quite the norm, get one sorted then the other one feels left out..😊
So how. many of you fine hippies have had similar happen, guess at least I know what to expect next time...😆
Many thanks for all your feedback and advice...
Stay Safe & Stay Happy..
Pete 😁

It is common, they are after all the same age 😊
I have no idea why my left hip was so bad, and my right one is fine, luck of the draw I suppose

Prior to having my TLHR in Feb 2016, my surgeon told me my right hip would need replacement sooner than later. I thought I would be fine, but also he knew best. I am scheduled for My TRHR for Jan 31st 2019. While we have traveled and been active these past 2 years I wish I had done my 2nd hip sooner. The impact on my daily life has not been worth the wait. I have q very high tolerance for pain, but the 800mg of ibuprofen and extra strength tylenol are not cutting the pain. Have the surgery as soon as you are able and them you will be able to truly recover!

Hi Pete
I was diagnosed with displagia, where the ball does not fit properly into the socket, on both sides. I was in severe pain with my left side and had my op on Nov 6th. I am recovering well, but like you, my right side has gotten worse. I was told it'll be operated on following my recovery and return to work, so I'm hoping maybe late spring/early summer, it'll be sorted. It does make it difficult when doing the physio and I've noticed, when climbing stairs, it is starting be behave like the left one did, when it started worsening. Did you mention it to your surgeon? You may have to get the ball rolling by going back to your GP and get referred back to your surgeon, unless you contact the surgeon's secretary and get him/her to pass the message to the surgeon. Hope you don't have to wait too long and get sorted. It's so wonderful to be free from the pain on the worst side. It'll be wonderful when the other side is seen to and you are able to move freely once more.
