scan

I went to the drs yesterday to hopefully get a prescription for iron because of constant bleeding as I feel it is very low.

She gave me a blood form and has requested for me to go to have a scan which should come in about 3 weeks but it worries me even though the dr says to see if the walls of the uterus are thickening then she wil know what treatment to give in the future, but I have told her I dont want HRT.

The blood test will probably be for several things. Iron levels, thyroid function, as well as many other things including white blood count and lymphocytes. Sounds to me like you have a good Dr who wants to rule things out before suggesting anything you might not need.

I am so worried. She also prescribed Mefanmic acid to take if I bleed again

This is just a precaution. You may not need to take it. I was on holiday when I had a really bad bleed. Try washing undies and trousers in an aeroplane toilet!!! Wish I had had something to take then

    Hi Caroline

Wait and see what the scan shows,

Did she give you iron tablets?

Also many have success with HRT, but others will not take it, I refused HRT, my doctor was not happy.

    It is your choice.

    Good luck

What is your point, because I don't see a question?

The point is she wasn't asking a question. She was stating her issue in general. Since she wasn't asking a question you could have kept your rude comment to yourself.

I hope you get the blood-Iron levels checked first. Iron supplements can cause problems all of their own.

Hi Bobby, I have been on iron tablets before causing constipation, black stools so yes they are checking the iron levels plus other things such as thyroid as I have thyroid medication anyway as I had a thyroid ectomy a few years ago

I've also heard that HRT can cause cancer, which is why I refuse to take it.
