Scared of melanoma

Hello, I’m a 16 year old boy. A few months ago a checked this spot on my toe to see what it was. The doctor told me it didn’t look like a mole. Fast forward 3 months and I had noticed tons of tiny brown spots that surrounded it. I’m quite worried that it is a mole and that it could be melanoma. Please look at this picture.

if I were you I would go back to your Gp and explain how anxious you are. if the Gp is at all worried they should refer you to Dermatology at your local hospital or maybe they have a nurse at you surgery that could have a look at it.

I can't see the image but yes go back to the doctor again. I had a mole come on my arm and lumps around it (I have no other moles on my body), the nurse noticed it when I was having bloods done and sent me in to see the doctor, she looked at it through some sort of instrument and just said "sun damage", despite the fact I don't sunbathe and Wear factor 50 and my arms are constantly covered up. It seems to be fading now but please go back!!

I wish you all the best.

    Hi,

If you are referred to Dermatology Clinic don't panic, they are very professional and caring. I was referred a couple of years ago and several moles were "worrying", their words, not mine.  I had a local anaesthetic and several moles removed, no pain whatever. Two weeks later I went back for results of biopsies and stitches removal. I was told that all but one were clear. The not okay one was early stage malignant melanoma-had to have further tissue removed there and then, again no pain at all. Had 36 stitches and went back two weeks later to have stitches out and told all was well with the later results.

Do not worry to much at this stage, and you will get sorted quickly if there are any problems.

    Mike.
