Scared of taking Citalopram

hi ive just been given citalopram by my dr but am scared to take them coz every time i start taking a new antidepressant i get bad feelings of anxiety and panic attacks worsen .i cant cope with the thought of having more panic attacks and dont know what to do i just want to be better. :cry:

    Hi Chezzz, unfortunatley with most of u things do tend to get worse before they get better......hang in there...you will get better and there are good times to be had....perserverance and patients are very hard to muster but things will get better....promise....good luck xx

    hi chezz,having had panic attacks and real bad ones to i can honestly say these helped.I like you were really frightened of taking them,but i wanted to feel better,they took a few weeks for the anxiety to calm down but it helped the panic attacks so so much!! Just give them a try.They really have helped me out of a really bad time. smile kim.x

    Hi chezzz, please stick wth it, first few weeks were a nightmare. Panic attacks and anxiety worse than ever, but couldn't have imagined how much better i feel for stickin with it. Got my life back. Take care let me know how you get on. x x

    :shock: i am new to this .this is my 1st time takeing citalopram so far so good i am hope thet i will be ok
