I had my second hip replacement in March 18 and still have 2 hard painful pea sized lumps in my scar. I was due to see the surgeon next week but this has been rescheduled for mid September.
has anyone else had lumps like this and, if so, how long before they disappeared..

I'm not a Doctor , but it sounds like scar tissue...try massaging the area daily..

I too had TRHR
Match 15/18
Was doing fantastic at 10 week physio evaluation they said what hip replacement, then the scar area really started hurting. Scar tissue I was told. Had cortisone shot in area and it helped for about a week. That was a month ago. Waiting to see surgeon again as it’s so sore and aches really bad at night effecting sleep.
I am staying active and pushing through the pain
But will follow these feed in case any well has had this and had answers and results.
Thanks for posting
Sue.

I'm 8 weeks post opp and have a few lumps. I was advised on my discharge appointment that once the scar was healed enough I should massage it with moisturiser.

Thanks for all the responses to my question.
I do massage every day with bio oil and have done so ever since the scar was healed enough to do so but it doesn't make any difference to the lumps, they are as hard and painful as ever. I wonder if I am stuck with them or if they will ever disappear.
I am due to go into have a replacement on my first THR which I had over 5 years ago and which is still a huge problem but the surgeon won't consider it till the 2nd one is settled.
I do my exercises but still have two unsuccessful hip replacements, am I just unlucky or are other people having problems?

I am 2 years post THR and have scar tissue which causes me pain. I find ice helps it. My original surgeon feels an Op to clear it out will help but I'm going to get a 2nd opinion
