Hello herpes is from a coldsaw sp the only way you could catch it is if your partner has a coldsaw on him lip or has genital herpes.

Like a month ago I spent a whole week with my boyfriend, I came back home like Saturday and got a fever and then on Sunday I started to get blisters like down there. It hurt really bad so two days later I went to the doctor and they told me I had herpes. So my bf got checked and he has nothing. Could I have been misdiagnosed?

Sorry to hear that it's a horrible experience. No they can't check for herpes they only way they can is my taking a swab from the blisters. I remember my doctor told me to get my husband checked but when I went to the sexual health they said they can boy check for herpes as it's dormant so he may have it and be a carrier or just not show symptoms yet. I had the exactly same symptoms had a fever, hurt when I went for a wee then had blisters it was the worst experience of my life I'd rather give birth again. X

Tooth infection has nothing to do with Herpes. Not possible to mis-diagnose if a swab was taken and the result came back positive. You can be tested with no signs of infection by doing a blood test but this has to be three months after infection as that's how long it takes to get into your blood!
