Hello people this is not for me but for my mum. She has recently had a big down patch with depression, its happened before but she had been alright up until the beginning of September. I attribute this partly as my fault as I had and still got it a bit massive anxiety but also our cat started messing in the living room which worried her quite a bit. She was out on a day trip in September when she described what she said felt like a wave go down over her eye. She said it was awful and that she could not enjoy anything on the trip. At the time she took 50MG sertraline daily to keep her on an even keel. Feeling really rubbish with the eye situation could be a phantom pain she asked her DR to help. He upped the dosage to 100mg a day and it wasn't good whatsoever she felt zombied her purse was stolen in a poundland by a distraction thief even though she didn't realise at the time and she was generally really bad. She decided after a few weeks to revert to 50mg again hoping this would rectify any issues. She now says she isn't down or depressed but knackered all the time she cannot sleep or gets a tiny bit of sleep. This is the main issue the sleeping she has these over the counter nytol tablets. However I don't think that is along term solution. So I want to know what can she do to sort her sleep out and she still says that phantom eye pain still bothers her.
Im wondering whether her going from 50MG to 100 MG and then down again has caused the sleep deprivation and the tiredness.
Ive also put her on the same vitamins as me to try and help her.
Any ideas would greatly be welcome people I would be very greatful shes 61 by the way Report this

Sorry to hear what you're mum is going through...how about just going up to 75mg instead off 100mg. Tell your mum to have a nice hot bubble bath or shower before getting into bed and a cup of chamomile tea with a good book to help her relax before bedtime.
