They do take a while to work dont they ! i feel like i go two steps forward and then have a set back its so weird but i am better than i was so i would stick with them a bit longer if i was you.

We're you on something else before or are these your first meds? Stick with it. You normally start of 50 then go up to 100 which works with least side effects for most people. I am on 100 about four weeks and feel great. Started on 50 as was weaning off another antidepressant. Good luck.

I've been on loads of others with horrendous side effects. These seemed okay at first but now getting regrets about taking them. And because I can't sleep I've just been prescribed amitriptyline to have at night. Grrrrrr is all I can say

I've been on these tablets for 27 weeks in total 100mg and 50mg surely if they were going to work they would have by now

I don't want to get to 27 weeks and feel the same. ....and yes you would have thought they would have started to work. My sister takes these and has had great results starting at 4 weeks. Saying it's the best she's felt. Still chasing that.....

Amitriptyline are fine, i had those years ago when i couldnt sleep. At least you will get some sleep now and that will make you feel loads better.

Hi, so sorry keep mixing you up with don67438. Yes I agree they should have worked for you by now. I was on 100mg for a year back in 2012. Restared them in Dec 14 and after 7 weeks of doing nothing to help my anxiety and depression changed to Mirtazapine 30mg in January 15. Why they didnt work second time dont know. I was changed to Mirt as I was losing a lot of weight and not sleeping.

Went down to 15mg in July myself as hated weight. Asked to change back to Sertraline to give it a go again. Apart from awful wd side effects can safely say 6+ weeks in I am better than ever. No mad cravings and weigh coming off, albit slowly.

Never put up with meds that dont work. I am proof that something that was good in the past didnt help and then later did. Sounds crazy but I have had great results with Sertraline with minimum side effects if any.

So glad your feeling better I wouldn't wish anxiety or this feeling of no hope on anyone ......and unless you have experience of it you dont understand. I'm a conseller and always thought I knew how it felt for my clients. I wasn't even coming close. If any good is to come out of this I'll have genuine empathy smile

Wow good to be humbled I guess. I am attending CBT atm and therapist got really upset when I discussed my past suicial feelings. She is only training but I did feel upset for her then....

Ironically I worked for Mind charity when my stress went through the roof and I resigned. One thing I hate is whether I am no longer depresssed or meds masking it. I have been told I am trying to intellectualise an illness that effects the emotions. Like thats a bad thing!!! lol. Have a happy day. Its all we have
