shin/leg aches

Yesterday and today I have leg ache...... it's a bad ache in my left shin (the side I had a ne hip in). I had it as I lay in bed last night too. Anyone any answers please? I have been having cold ice pads on my leg and ankle to try and get the swelling down a bit and to make it less painful. I am also doing my walking and my excersises as I should be doing. I really can't understand why the ache is in my left shin and not in my hip that is fine and the scar is healing nicely. All thoughts would be appreciated smilesmile

    Hi Gillcat

That is what I have too. It is in both my legs and the only way I can get the swelling down and help with the pain is to lay down flat and raise my feet above my heart on pillows

Sorry you are in pain. I hope it eass off fo you. You may want to reduce your walking and excersises for a couple of days and see f that helps too. x

It could just be your muscles adjusting to walking again and walking the right way. Don't forget you could have been subconsciously walking in a way you didn't realise and now you don't have the hip pain your muscles are knitting back together while trying to go back to working the way they should. Maybe a little deep heat cream or something would help.

Hi Gillcat ... always something else, right ?  I have them too - both shins and non operated side worse ... I remember that I had this kind of pain when I went down a long stair case ... I guess it was from the unused muslces in my shin - so now I think that this might be it too ... I know that walking is a balancing act for me - constantly correcting my self, my posture, the way I put my feet down... I am not worried but just annoyed -  also muscles in my feet are pulsing ... walking with cramped toes !!! dear Lord.... it is not  easy being a hippie confused - maybe a nice rub would soothe the pain??? is Alan up to it ....?

    big hug

I had this I think it is where they may clamp your leg down whilst they do the op so you don't fall of the table also had it in the operated leg and yellow patches on leg where bruising was coming out hope you are ok other than that I will give you a call

i find that raising my leg whilst laying down helps a lot. and it does stop that hrrible nagging ache that drives you nuts.... my husband rubbed some deep heat around my knee(on the operated side)  and that too gave me instant relief.  Its a new pain every day isnt it?  its all sent to try us..... but dont let it beat you

    rest and take care..

Voleterene Pain Cream 2%. It takes about 30 minutes for it to work but it does work. In fact it works wonderful on shins and ankles & feet. It doesn't last that long but it will eliminate the pain or at least knock it back enough so that it is managable. It has a slightly different name in the UK, and you do not need a doctors prescription. The 2% is a lot better than the 1%. It works really GREAT for the bach aches we all get sleeping on our backs, and I particularly used it for the pain I got in my butt cheek.
