Anxiety seems to go away and come back same thing with shortness of breath . also just started having a Fast Beating Neck Vein sensation when I'm about to go to sleep and after I wake up (its not the heart rate) I made sure it wasn't that. Should I be concerned ??? Need help please help!

These are classic symptoms of anxiety. Have the medications made improvements and how long have you been on the new medications? Its not uncommon to be given multiple medications but you have to give it time for your body and mind to adjust. With that said, you also have to work on managing your anxieties with various exercises such as breathing. Medication doesn't always make it go away completely. You may still experience flare ups so you'll need to have the coping skills to get through them. I would recommend books, online resources, a therapist, or group therapy in addition to the medication. I have the same symptoms. I'm still working on managing my anxieties so I know it's easier said than done but you have to go on with your normal daily activities. The more you avoid situations the more you're training your brain there's reason to fear. Anxiety is basically your mind playing tricks on you - feeling anxious or fear when there is no real danger. You'll get through this. It'll just take time. Oh and are you seeing a psychiatrist or your regular doctor? I prefer a psychiatrist since that's their only focus - mental health.

Thanks for the reply su. I've been on Celexa going on 6 weeks now and I've been on Propranolol sense march . my new medications are Buspar been on it for about 5 days now and I just recently got prescribed an inhaler for shortness of breath but it doesn't seem to help as much it does give me a little relief. Also I'm seeing a psychiatrist I have a coming appointment with her this coming Thursday. And in august I will have my first counseling appointment. this anxiety just started about 1 month and 2 weeks ago.

I'm currently on buspar, well buspirone which is the same medication. Its worked well for me so far. Its not making me completely normal but it has helped and no side effects. I have seasonal asthma and I have an inhaler. I've tried using it during a panic attack. It did nothing for me either. Being that its been a month, it's still a little early to determine if the medications are not working. I'm glad to hear you have an appointment with a psychiatrist. It's amazing how much they know about anxieties. I think you will see more progress working with a psychiatrist. Good job in scheduling a therapy session as well. You're taking some great steps. Medication and therapy have helped me and I think it will be helpful for you too. It may take some time but be patient. It will get better.

Sounds like anxiety but have you had a visit with your doctor just to get peace of mind? That would be a good first step.
a counselor can help you manage anxiety. It's hard to do on our own.
something really helps me are audio meditations on you tube for anxiety, depression, getting a good sleep, etc. just do a search, use earbuds, lay down and listen.
many to choose from. A couple that I like are called
detachment from overthinking,
train your mind and body to relax, sleep, relieve anxiety
clearing subconscious negativity
if you're having a full-blown panic attack, search for panic attack emergency
you need to get control over the anxiety. The worst thing you can do is react with anxiety when you get symptoms. This will increase your anxiety.
when your doctor tells you you are healthy, then you need to really work on managing the anxiety. When you get anxiety symptoms, don't try to fight them off. Acknowledge them in a calm way . You can even say " I know I can feel my neck sensation. It's ok." A book that would really help you is called Mindfulness. It teaches you all of this!
For shorteness of breath, slowly inhale through your nose making sure your belly rises.Exhale through your lips as though you are blowing out a candle. While you are doing this, think about how the air feels when you inhale and exhale. Do this several times. Whenever you are feeling anxious or have crazy thoughts, come back to the breathing . It brings you back to the present moment.
see your doctor , do the meditations, do breathing exercise and get the book! 😁

Hello Jan thanks for the reply. And I've been several trips to the ER and the psychiatrist and walk in with my family doctor. They all seem to agree its GAD Causing all these Symptoms. I had Xray,Blood work , echocardiogram,EKG they all came out normal. At first I had the fear and my mind was going crazy thinking it was lung disease or problems with my heart. But doctors say I'm healthy. Thank you for the information I will try the meditations and breathing exercise hopefully they work. Have you ever had shortness of breath?

Seems like anxiety. You probably need to reset your breathing. If your doctor saids it's safe to exercise I would reccomend getting into weightlifting then eventually cardio. It will reset your breathing pattern so your less likely to have irregular breathing so you won't get loss of breath/anxiety. It also burns off tons of stress and tension. Also search Progressive muscle relaxation and try that.

I've been doing 30min work out with this cool app called icare oxygen monitor.
And thanks for the advice doctor says it's okay for me to do cardio but he hasn't told me about lifting weights. Ill give it try starting tomorrow sense I have a mini gym in my apartment. So how long does this shortness of breath last ? I've been going with it for more than a month already ): or does it depend on me how I manage it?
