Should I have my dose increased?

I've been taking citalopram for 4 and a half years now since a breakdown. I started on 10mg after around a year I was put on to 20mg, I've been doing brilliantly on the 20mg but recently have been having a tough time.

My grandad has been diagnosed with lung cancer within the last 4 weeks and has been living in my home, I have been feeling increasingly anxious, panicked the usual symptoms that every now and then I can feel but recently it seems to be every other day if not everyday.

I'm considering visiting my doctor and having my meds increased to 30mg.. What are people's views on this do you think it's the best step to take or should I try and ride out this feeling? I'm just worrying I will crash and burn and end up having a break down once again.

Thanks!

I would try ride that through , much as You may think 30 is the answer I don't think it is

You have got a great stress in your life and I am not suprised your stressed.  unfortunately increasing isn't going to take that problem away. It's not always easy to come down. Life has it's ups and downs even if your on cit . There will always be good periods and bad. Try Rescue spray yoga deep breathing space for yourself get out have a coffee . Is there any McMillan or other social body you can get support from?

      Hi guys,

Thanks for the comments.. I decided to ride it out for a little while longer without upping my dose and for the last few days I have felt slightly better and not as anxious so fingers crossed I'm past my little hiccup!
