Should I take a Klonopin?

Have felt really weird for hours. Body feels numb inside, derealizatuon, feel like passing out, shaking, hard to stand, dizzy, nauseous. Hard to eat cuz of nausea. I take Klonopin as needed I just wanna make sure it’s safe to take it if I feel like passing out already cuz I know from experience that it can make you feel off and odd.

Hi there Jeff are you in the UK? I'm only asking as I don't have allot of experience with clonazepam although I have taken it .

Anyway you havnt mentioned whether it was the drug that's making u feel like this OR if it's because you haven't taken it .

If it's the later I'd probably medicate, but that's my opinion and not an instruction mate .

Benzo addiction is horrible and I feel you bud . Anyway stay safe

Hey Dave. I believe it’s partially due to a bad reaction to Prozac (I started last week). I’m switching on Friday when I have my appt. I have been struggling with anxiety for over a year and this attack/feeling is the hands down worst one. The klonopin I take is .5mg I take it as needed have been for a year. I don’t use it often but the last week I’ve been using it an average of every 2 days. Anyway, I know how it can make me feel, so I basically wanna make sure it won’t make me pass out since I’m already severely fatigued and feel faint already.

I'm not a doc or a medical professional so this is my opinion .

I think it's more likely that if you were to take the klonopin that it may make you very drowsy as you seem to be benzo naive, in that your a responsible user BUT what you are describing to me sounds like how I feel when I run out of benzos, although it may be the antidepressants causing it , I doubt it is .

My honest opinion is that it's lack of benzos in your system as most antidepresst drugs especially SSRI ones take weeks to work.

Anyway only you can decide and only you know of any other problems like low blood sugar or blood pressure fluctuations.

I would ask your doctor for diazepam and get off of short acting benzos as they are very scary once addicted , not that I'm indicting diazepam, but it's certainly better than using short acting benzos every other day as they hit hard at very low doses and leave you like your ex wife and bank account lol .

Honestly if your only concern is going asleep and your in he'll atm. Then myself in your situ would try the klonopin .

If you do and if it stops the weird feelings ..... take note and get off completely using small low doses of a long acting benzo via your gp... and NEVER TOUCH A BENZO AGAIN... as I've taken them for 20 years and I'm petrified of stopping .

Take care and make good decisions ..

Thanks. I am confident it is severe flu like symptoms from the Prozac. Last year I was using klonopin every day for a while and never got this. I didn’t take one last night, but my doctor called me back today and said I can take one if I feel like that again. I’m going in tmrw to talk about switching long term meds.

First of all, if you were able to type that then you will be fine taking a klonopin. It is probably the only thing that will help. This has happened to me before and it’s these so called “safe” non addictive psychiatric meds that completely mess with your brain and the fact that they work on the same part of the brain as LSD makes me realize that just like I will likely lose my s**t if I do lsd again, these psychiatric drugs also make me lose it just like a bad trip. The irony is not a single person has ever died from a benzo overdose or taking a benzodiazepine. They are literally the safest drugs one can take. They will warn you that they are addictive and oh the nightmare of coming off of them! Okay, first of all if you have high blood pressure they give you high blood pressure medicine that you have to continue to take for the rest of your life and these drugs are actually dangerous. They warn everyone about benzos, but if you are someone who suffers from daily panic attacks and phobias that keep you from functioning then they are a godsend and you will probably need to take them forever. We are nothing but the drug companies guide each pigs, and the drug company’s no longer make money off of benzos so they push these new safer (my ass) drugs on you. They warm you that benzos will cause dementia and Alzheimer’s. They said that the short acting ones were the worst, so they start giving everyone klonopin. Well, as it turns out a recent study shows that the shorter acting benzos such as Xanax and Ativan are much safer and do not cause long term memory impairment unlike the longer lasting klonopin and Valium. Now, I need a Xanax and I will be fine, but Prozac and these mind altering expermental drugs I won’t nothing to do with!

I have tried many of their anti depressants, in luding prozac and they all made me feel terrible and out of it so i stopped. Psych has given up on me as there was nothing i took made me any better so i am left with diazepam to sleep and during day for anxiety.  I never had any of this before i was given diazepam for back spasms prior to surgery but now i cant get off them and i think its them that are making me depressed.  I have never taken more than 5mg to sleep and 4 or 5mg in day when bad.  Some days i get by with 2mg.   I just want rid of depression and these but psych just doesnt want to know, as long as i can be miserable at home and not take up a bed he just leaves it alone, no help at all. Where do i go from here, i need a decent psychiatrist.

Yeah, I was on Celexa for 10 months and I still didn’t feel normal. Wasn’t panicking tho. Came off of them in June and then went on Prozac last week and I’m recovering from flu like symptoms. Not taking the Prozac anymore. I have an appt Monday so we’ll see.

Hey guys, same boat as on Wednesday, maybe the smallest bit better. My dr called yesterday and said I can take a klonopin when feeling like this but I’m still hesitant. Thoughts?

I found prozac sent me scatty as did many of the others.  I am only taking  benzodiazepine now to control anxiety.  It works but im not ‘better’ yet.  I am sure klonopin for a while will be a better option when the other are not, worth a try anyway...
