Hi dsrc, When I upped to 40mg. It increased the anxiety and depression for several weeks, then it started to ease up. I would still get ups and downs untill it finally evens out. I'm on week 5 of 40mg. and last week was great and I thought I was finally over the bad days, but 2 days ago I had a depressive bout and cried alot. Yesterday I had anxiety but it is lesser today. It can take awhile to even out to normal. That time is full of ups and downs, but eventually it will level out. This forum is great and I keep coming back for reassurance, because we need it constantly, to keep us hopeful that we will eventually feel good again. Keep us posted on your progress.

I started on 40mg. after only 1 week from 20mg. but it was too much too soon and had to go back down to 20mg for 2 weeks and then up to 30mg. for 3 weeks and then up to 40mg. which I have been on for13 weeks. It's really different for everyone. You just have to find what works for you. I also find that praying alot really helps me.

What  Ramp.. The Doctor started me at 100 and that wasn't enough. So He prescribed 150 mg and here I am.

I had beeen taking prozac and that quit working altogether.

    Hi there..

yes the first few weeks did that to me too. Yawning and lethargy were really bad. The transition was worth it in the end. I tried to go from 40 to 60 and the eide effects began to wear me down again - back at 40 now and just about balanced.

If you decide to try again - keep chatting on here...it really helped me.

Maybe talk to doctor and go to 30 first - i did this for a few weeks, this may have helped me a bit.

    Good luck!

And you - whichever way you do it - going to 40mg is going to give you some grief for a couple of weeks or more. Should be worth it tho.

Did anyone get any type of swelling as a side effect? I'm on 40 mg about 12weeks now and all of a sudden the last few weeks my feet have been swelling. I'm not pregnant so could it be a side effect or allergic reaction?

      Hi Brittany

      My answer is possibly....

I am retaining weight like never before.

I am hoping it is not the prozac but another med for blood pressure.

I am experiencing discomfort in my legs generally and have started to build up my exercise regime to try to combat this.

This is now my biggest anxiety concern to the point of self increasing my dosage (again) to shake myself out of it.

I went for a 5 mile walk/jog last night and felt that i have at least started to mentally tackle this.
