hi there,

dont know if anyone can advise me but i am a week into taking fluoxetine and am finding the side effects very difficult. I took this drug about 6 years ago and cant remember feeling this bad when first taking it. I have found that my panic attacks are worse and last for longer, my head doesn,t feel as if it belongs to me and the dizziness and nausea are awful. I take it first thing in the morning and by about 3 oclock onwards the side effects start getting worse. Does anyone have any advice please to put my mind at rest as i am seriously considering stopping them. thankyou

    hi

I have been taking this also for 13 days. My doctor warned me things could be a bit rough but to try and stick at it as its generaly worth it. Initially I felt like i was completely on another planet, although I did fairly quickly have short periods where i felt calm. when i did feel anxiety it was not linked to thoughts. I also found the side effects worsened in later in the day. I had trouble sleeping no appetite, overwhelming anxiety, headache.

My anxiety still fluxuates but all the other side effects have calmed right down. I had my first good nights sleep last night, and i have been able ot relax over the last couple of evenings.

I have found exercise really helps. I still am hoping in a couple of weeks things will improve further. I dont feel great but i do feel better.

Dont know whether this helps, i think you have more sickness than me which can be hard going.

    Take care.

    Hi,

I have been on fluoxetine 7 days. For the first few days I felt worse than before I started taking them and i don't feel much better now although i expected this because i have had a similar experience with Seroxat where the first ten days or so were hellish but then I started to feel OK. I have had less side effects on Flueoxetine and I am hoping that I will start to feel good within a few days. My advice is stick with it.

Hi I would advise you look at all the side effects and dangers of the drug you are taking, I believe the guy who jumped out of the window with his kids had recently started Prozac, if these are possible side effects, then can you really trust to take this long-term ? Try maybe Homeopathy, nutritional therapy and natural soothing herbs to help you cope. The drug will always be a crutch and may cause other health concerns. Good Luck and Be blessed..

I TRIED ALL HERBAL REMEDIES INCLUDING VALERIAN FOR NIGHT TIME AND VALERIAN FOR DAY TIME,I ALSO TRIED THE BACH FLOWER REMEDIES,I AM A AROMATHERAPIST AND TRIED EVERYTHING BEFORE TAKING ANY MEDICATION BUT I HAD TO GIVE IN AND GO SEE MY DOCTOR IF I HADN'T I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WOULD BE LIKE NOW,IT DOES TAKE AT LEAST 4 WEEKS TO GET IN THE SYSTEM,AND SOMETIMES DEPENDING ON HOW BAD YOUR CONDITION, YOU DON'T HAVE MUCH CHOICE IF YOU HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING ELSE,I WOULD LOVE TO BE DRUG FREE BUT I CAN'T SEE IT HAPPENING.bUT GOOD LUCK TO ANYONE WHO IS JUST STARTING THEM, THEY WILL HELP YOU FEEL BETTER BUT YOU DO NEED TO GIVE THEM TIME, I KNOW WE WANT IT TO HAPPEN OVER NIGHT BUT IT ISN'T THAT EASY.
