side effects after starting again

just wanted your help please. I started fluoxetine again two weeks ago due to anxiety attacks. My gp accepted to put me on it again. I had stopped taking them for three and a half years after taking them for four years.

i am already starting to feel better again. But still have some side effects. From your experience are the side effects shorter when you restart them?

thanks in advance for any help.

I was on Prozac and going off Paxil. I started getting very restless like akathesia. I was on it for 12 days and my doc told me to go down to 5mg and I was on it for 5 or 6 days. Now that I've been off of it for about 6 days it's gotten some better. Now I'm really nauseous and just feel yucky. Would you think that's side effects from coming off of the medication? It settled down some during the first dose of 10mg and that's when I went to 5mg.The akathesia was horrible. I have been pacing the floor and can't sit still. Have you ever known anyone to get that bad?

Are you going off of flu as well as pax?

You for sure start feeling different after being off of the medication

I was on Prozac starting on 10mg for 12 days then titrating to 5mg for about 6. I was on Paxil 45mg at the time. I just couldn't handle the restlessness and the intrusive OCD thoughts that started.

I'm on Citalopram, another type of SSRI, and this is my second time on them.  This time around I had different side effects and it took longer to kick in.

    Everyones different of course.

Usually these type of meds take around 3-4 months to start working and recovery often comes in waves, so feeling good to start with might disappear for a while.  Not to worry though, as the good feelings will return.

Side effects will linger for a while.

    K xx
