Side effects on Flu
Posted , 2 users are following.
Hi all,
Ive been reading all the posts and its been very helpful if not a bit scary!! Ive been on Flu for 6 weeks and do feel a lot better but can feel very spaced out some days and have hand tremors quite a bit as well as palpatations. It's starting to worry me a bit and then I wonder whether thats just paranoia! Concentraing in work can be difficult too.
Not looking forward to staying on them for 6 months or more, has anyone come off before and if so how do you feel?
All responses welcome! x

Your site name is positive which is refreshing to see. Welcome to this site.
I've been on flu coming up for 6 months now. The side effects you describe are common - i had them too, they will diminish in time.
Take each day as it comes, you have to be very patient and things WILL improve.
Good for you for staying at work. I know what you mean re the concentration - goes with territory i'm afraid.
Keep posting too and share any experiences you have. We are all here to help and support each other.
Best wishes and take care.

Thanks for the advice its definitly good to hear what others have to say, I havent told many people Im on them and its hard to describe how your feeling when you get side effects and things, hopefully it will settle down.
Wondering if I should let my manager know im on them or not-any ideas or experiences on that?

Your welcome.
I know what you mean re describing feelings re side effects or just feelings in general on this damn drug.
I did tell my management before i was diagnosed, although it would have been hard for them not to spot something was wrong as i had a blubbing fit in the office - rather embarrassing. (oh and i'm a bloke despite my site name).
It hasn't happened since starting flu thankfully.
At least if they know, they will hopefully be able to understand if you go off the deep end at any time.
I used to be very shy but now i don't stand for any nonsense. If people ask me if i'm ok i usually say no and tell them why.
You'd be amazed at how many people out there have had this illness or know someone that has. Not everyone handles it well so you can just ignore those people - that's what i do.
I've found no less than 5 people at work who have had it or are still fighting their way through the fog and i would never have known.
So, after all that, my advise is yes!!
Best wishes.

I would tell your assessor and ask his advise on whether you should tell the school.
Having depression is nothing to be ashamed of. I have been amazed at some of the positive reactions i have had from people.
You will recover and be a better person for it. I have learnt so much about the illness from others on this site and from the internet and books. Knowledge is power my dear.
For me now, the more people that know the better. You will always get the 'snap out of it' brigade but they are just ignorant people and can be treated as such.
No one can really understand what it's like unless they have experienced it and there's a lot of people out there who have experienced depression and come out the other side.
You are in the early stages of recovery and recover you shall. I remember the early days up to about week 9 when i upped my dose to 40mg. I'm generally on the level now.
It is really hard working at the same time but i am sure you will succeed.
Keep in touch and best wishes. You can PM me if you prefer (if you are a member). Memory is so short i can't remember.
