Sigmoidoscopy need urgent advice please!

Hi does anyone know if having this procedure is common to show up diver etc? I'm concerned that as this procedure only shows the first part of the colon they might miss them? Has anyone had this happen? Please help as got apt today at 440! Thanku x

    From my experience a sigmoidoscopy will likely show diverticula if there are any, and will enable the doctor to decide if a full colonoscopy is needed. You will not be able to go to a colonoscopy directly because that requires a full colon cleanse over 24 hours.

      Hi everyone. Unfortunately she couldn't do it properly as their was too much stool! She is gona rush through a ct scan though. Thanku for all your help! It really helps to know your not alone!
