Sinusitis fungal/mold. What to do/not do

Hi all, I'm 15 days post op for a sinus infection that lasted 6 months. I took antibiotics at first, got better, but relapsed each time after 1-2 weeks off it. Finally cat scan revealed serious clogged sinuses. I was blowing out claw shaped boogers after my 2x a day hour showers to cleanse sinuses. Still, it never got better. I had deviated septum from childhood injury and right nostril working at about 20 percent. Surgery was scheduled asap but stupid insurance makes me wait 15 days. Then dr schedule booked so had to wait extra month of severe pain. I knew it was bad. Turns out, the infection was eating away at bone and cartilage inside my nose and sinuses. Dr couldn't fix deviated septum because he had to scrape infection off and made septum very thin, to point it wouldn't heal at all if did. 1 week after surgery, he removed packing, filled with bloody mucus gloops. I had been pulling these blood mucus ropes out after surgery, DO NOT BLOW NOSE AFTER SURGERY. I did just a little little bit and pop! A huge sty under eye. Lasted a week but went away. It's no joke, do not blow. So the infection was a mold, which is a fungus. It's still being analyzed so don't know yet. I can breathe so much better!!! I'm on a liquid sporanox and saline solution flush. It's a 1/6 ratio and I irrigate 2x daily. I'm 45 and guilty of partying back in my late 20's and early 30's with cocaine. But do not think that was it. As it's been 12-13 years since did. Outdoor mold spores are very aggressive compared to indoor mold. I live in nice, newer home. Dr said an object or piece of debis may have gotten lodged up there and started the chain of events that led me to this life threatening issue. Please use my experience as info on not waiting too long, and treatment options. Thanks

Hi Ryan, I just had surgery on February 28,2017. The blood would not stopI am using ocean spray and taking my meds. The scope they put in my throat are making it sore. Hopefully that will stop. The blood seemed to stop on March 3. Now have to go back and get my things he put in my nose removed. No blowing of nose which will cause more bleeding. My Ent removed and fixed my deviated septum. Fixed my Terminates in my nose. Now have to fix my throat from the scope. I believe my allergies have so much to do with this post op. Jeannie
