    Hi Derek

my strategy for coping with sleepless nights is to fill my time - sometimes I read, but if the pain is too bad I listen to audio books, sometimes I do Art therapy, adult colouring in books- that helps take my mind off the pain! Sometimes I watch films. It really all depends how uncomfortable pain wise I am what I do, but I do something, because to just lie there hoping for sleep is horrible! Find something to engage you and try it! Hope this helps. Have a good day.

I'm still trying to find the solution on that one Derek. Haven't had a good night sleep in over 20yrs and have tried all remedies, techniques of breathing and sleep hygiene.

Not giving up though as I know one day I will get some sleep. wink x

I do the deep breathing through the nose, hold it as long as you can..but not uncomfortable ...breath..slowly out the mouth. As many times as you can, I don't ever remember how many times maybe 3-8,  I just drift off...mind you I only take one prescription med for Fibro-Amithriptilyne  25 mg 2 hours before bed..it does the trick..I sleep like a baby..pain/muscle spasm free..mind you I've been on it 16 yrs now and .never had it increased either..I.have to woken in the morning, but once up and dressed I'm fine all day...sleep disorders are such a huge issue for Fibro sufferers..I really feel for people who can't get the sleep they need....I've been there, many ears ago..it's just horrid.and does sooo much damage to your health...was like that until I was given something from the dr.. that worked-all trial and error unfortunately....so if you do find what works for you, stick to it..it's like winning a gold medal Derek..be blessed..have a lovely day..:-) xxx

Hello Derek, I know  its horrible when you cant get a good nights sleep, I really struggled last night if I wasnt having muscle spasms when i relaxed the pain was there  in all my pressure points. I read, watch abit of tv i find propping pillows around me helps as i can put one inbetween thighs and lie on my side or when i lie on my stomach place one under my stomach and so on, it helps a little. Failing all that i take a herbal sleeping tablet. Hope you get a good nights sleep. I am sure you will get plenty of advice on here, I will keep an eye out myself to get some helpfull tips. lol
