Sloughing question

Hello, I quite recently stopped chewing tobacco pouches after quite a long period of time. I work overnights and tonight when I woke up, I brushed my teeth and gargled. After I got to work (about an hour later) I took a drink of a antioxidant based beverage. Shortly after I had skin that peeled off around the inside of my mouth. It was weird and I have never had that happen. Should I be concerned?

I've had the same symptoms.  I discovered that, in my case, it was an allergic reaction to certain toothpastes.  I did a little research and found this to be a fairly common symptom.  Once I changed toothpaste brands, the problem went away.  The same thing happened to my brother, who also switched up his toothpaste.  It doesn't sound like anything to be concerned about, but it's probably best to get it checked out since you have a history of chewing tobacco.

I believe you are correct. I think however it was the mouth wash. Tonight I did the same thing but no mouth wash and it didn't occur again. Also I will be going to the dentist asap. Thanks for the information.

It could really be an allergic reaction. You should not eliminate the use of mouthwash but I suggest you discover the specific causes of your allergic reaction.
