Small brownish patch on back

Posted , 1 user is following.

Hello,

Firstly, I should be seeing a doctor tomorrow as they weren't able to see me today but as it's playing on my mind I thought I'd see what others thought of this.

Someone pointed out to me today that I have a small brown patch on my back (near the middle) the diameter seems to be around 3mm.

Link to image as the file size is too big

Now, I could have had this for a long time as very rarely does anyone see my back but it could also be something suspicious.

Any opinions are welcomed.

Thanks.

Very sensible to get it checked out by the doctor and a day's delay shouldnt be too much of a problem. If it isnt itchy or sore or hasnt changed shape or become inflamed, you probably have nothing to worry about but troublesome moles and marks on the skin on the back should always be checked, very wise of you. You havent said your age - the older we get the more skin imperfections just seem to appear and are mostly harmless just unsightly. Here's hoping you have nothing of concern.

Thank you for the reply. I'm in my early 30s. I realised after posting this that I had some pictures of my back from around 2 years ago when I had a sebaceous cyst near my shoulder, so I had a look at them and I could see the brown patch in the exact same spot in the pictures and it it's still the same size and shape so it's a mark I've had a for a while and quite possibly for all of my life, I'm just not used to someone pointing out things on my back.

      Thank you!
