Small bump on upper chest I’ve had for years

i am a 33 year old adult male and I've had a small bump on my upper right chest for about 10+ years. I have always though it may have been an irritated hair follicle since I do shave my chest occasionally and am noticing another small one right next to it develop.

It is not painful and does not puss or leak anything, it is not hard but not soft either. i attached a picture of what it looks like.

I have an appointment to see my doctor but not until the end of january so that's why i am asking here for now. File size is too big

It could be an irritated hair follicle, maybe an ingrowing hair that has become infected and then the infection has spread in the lower skin level to cause other tiny infections. You are right to see your doctor because of the colour of this bump.

Skin parts that are constantly shaved can often come up in lumps and bumps. Try going without shaving for a few weeks to give those hairs a chance to grow out. Also a soft bristle brush lather twice a week followed by a body skin cream will help. Do this just before you go to bed.

Thanks for the input! The color of it is actually more of a natural flesh color, for some reason the picture makes it seem red when it isn’t.

I’ve had this for at least 8 years and it grew to the size it is now and hasn’t changed. It doesn’t hurt or bother me it’s just unsightly to me more than anything and I wanna check with my doctor to make sure it isn’t something serious. I’m sure it isn’t serious and probably just an inflamed/infected hair follicle due to shaving but I’d rather be safe than sorry!
