Sneezing fits

Posted , 5 users are following.

I'm now 6 weeks 1day post opp from rectocele and my beautiful handsome son has given me his cold. I'v have taken tablets and sniffed on vicks vapour rub all day.

But im still having bouts of sneezing fits of about 4-5 in a row, I keep holding my self in and cupping my lady bits when sneezing but the odd one still hurts.

Do you think I am doing any damage and any advice welcomed. Xxx

After 6 weeks your sutures will have taken hold and started to heal your repair. It's difficult to know however if any damage is caused by healing because we don't know how healed you are but there's less risk now.

    Hi,

just to reassure you, I was in a similar situation. I had my operation last winter and  at 2?to 3 weeks post op I got most awful cold and cough. Like you I was holding everything  on, doing what I could but just had to cough so much. I couldn't believe it, I hardly ever get colds  and  it was so early so  I was worried. I didn't feel there was any damage done and when I went for  my  6 week  check I mentioned  it all and everything was fine.

I think it's good a lot of the initial healing is done with you and also if you feel the same there should be no problem . Good luck.

Hi Topsi! At 6weeks post op it would be strange to me that you spoiled your surgery with sneezings. Surgeons make sure everything is very well fastened down there cos this op must last for years... Take care and don't worry too much 😘
