so uncomfortable

Today I went with my daughters (she is a teacher of year one children) class on a trip to Windsor Castle. Lots of walking around and was up at six am. I am back to being very sore and tender in my vulva area again. I am due back to work (in a school) in about 10 days time and am now dreading it incase this discomfort is going to plague me indefinitely. Seeing the consultant next Monday.

When did you have surgery barbara?

It sounds as though you aren't quite ready even if your consultant says you have healed nicely. We always say to ladies if you can do your normal day to day things like shopping, housework etc and still have something left over at the end of the day then you are probably ready, but you aren't at that stage yet so wait another couple of weeks.

I have been coping well at home housework (except hoovering) out shopping. Going back and doing 8am till 11am for the first week or so instead of 8-4pm.

I was going to mention graduated return so that's good. I went back to work after 13 weeks with graduated return over 4 weeks initially but only did 3 because I felt OK. See what your consultant says. He's the one who knows you best.

I have been reading up about a condition called Vulvodynia and was wondering if I could have developed that following the operation. It sounds very like it and quite a few ladies develop it after Hysterectomy etc. Bodies reaction to the mucus membrane being aggravated during surgery. I am praying that this is not the case as not much is known about the condition and not much treatment offered. Hardly any specialist around for it. 😞
