Hi! My names Katelyn and I'm 18. I've been suffering from a wide range of symptoms for 2 going on 3 years now. Mainly "cardiac" symptoms. (But have also thought and had symptoms of kidney and lung problems. Both also came back perfect.) I had a HORRIBLE bout of anxiety when i was 16, my worst yet. (I've dealt with GAD since i was 9). I was terrified of leaving the house, wasn't eating, wasn't sleeping and was having panic attacks one after another every day. This is when my hypochondria and physical symptoms began, starting with my chest. Since then and still to this day I've had and do have pain in my left arm, chest pain and tightness, shortness of breath, dizziness, palpitations etc. These symptoms occur about 90%-95% of the time. I've seen NUMEROUS doctors. I've been to hospitals, a cardiologist, immediate cares and my gp more times than I can count. I've had at LEAST 10 ekgs, an echocardiogram, 2-3 holter monitors, blood work (multiple times), chest x-rays.. Everything there had been nothing wrong. Not even the slightest thing to cause even a little concern. I've basically been given a clean bill of health repeatedly, yet still suffer these symptoms.
Has or does anyone deal with this type of thing? Any feedback is welcomed. Thank you

I have a lot of those same symptoms. In fact, it was the chest pain that sent me to a doctor to begin with. I honestly thought I was dying. I didn't have health insurance so I went to urgent care and the doctor was so sure that it was just anxiety he didn't even give me any tests. Went there again a few months later for different pain and new symptoms, he said the same thing. Finally got health insurance and a primary doctor, he also said it's anxiety. Last time I saw him (which was my second appointment) he thought he might have heard one of the missed beats I was talking about and did an EKG but he said it looked normal. My bloodwork all came back clean too. Everything says I'm healthy.
The physical symptoms are something that I have the hardest time with. I've just been prescribed 10mg Citalopram to take daily, but it takes time to work and currently I'm dealing with nausea as a side-effect, which I've read is normal and it will pass. I hear yoga is also really good for anxiety, and I've had some luck with guided meditations (you can find a lot of videos for them on Youtube.)

Glad to know other people suffer the sane symptoms and issues.. Not so glad at the same time because it's absolutely horrible and I wouldn't wish it on anyone!
I've been on about 3-4 different anxiety medications since I have been diagnosed. My fit was Paxil 10mg and its going on I'd say 7-8 years I've been on it. It definitely takes the edge off, but back when my hypochondria first started 2 years ago I needed Xanax in addition to the Paxil. Its a long unsteady road but once you find your happy medium the panic part of anxiety definitely smoothes over.
I hope the Citalopram is your happy medium and helps ease your mind and symptoms! Thank you for the reply it means more than you'd think to be able to RELATE to somebody. (:
