Sox on by themselves!

Dear All,

All still well at 30 days....tho curious thing happened today.

I was lying on sofa on back with knees bent, watching the motor racing. Wife was upstairs doing make up and choosing earings, and was about to come and put my sox on as usual.

Except I was fiddling with sox, totally relaxed, and when she came down i found I had accidently put them both on before the magical 6 week point.

Partly I feel I inadvertently pushed it a bit, but also partly marvelled at how soon our bodies heal.

Prob will get her to lovingly put them on tomorrow, esp as the sox putter oner is pants

Mic

Well done Mic, don't push it too much though just in case.  When do you go for your post op check?

It's when we get too comfortable that accidents can happen. The other day I almost had a wobble. Slight muscle pull, but a gentle reminder, your not there yet.

Having finally said a reluctant farewell to my stylish TED stockings I also put proper socks on by myself today, the sock putting on thing is pretty rubbish I agree! This won't apply to you Mic (I think) but I also managed to shave my legs taught!

    Hi mic

I like how you suddenly found you'd put both your sox on lol !

In the absence of a human sock putter onner, I have to put my shoes, sox, tights on and wash my operated leg by bending it either to the side or back and I'm 9 weeks post op but have been doing that for sometime now. If I'm not going out I don't wear any, though I do wash my foot and have to dry it that way too.

It hurts if I do it any other way so biding my time.

I agree the sock putter onner is pants especially for my little sox.

It will come eventually, however you may have lost a bit of sympathy there lol!

Ha ha well done Mic, I was also amused that you suddenly found you had put both socks on. Also agree that the sock putter oner is rubbish, we'll have to put our heads together and invent something better.

It was a case of necessity that I put my socks on last week (4weeks post op) as husband was helping and I can't stand anyone touching my feet, very ticklish. I also have rather big feet and was sick to death of the comments from himself who married me 14 years ago, but not my feet!

Keep up the good work, with caution.

someone was on dragons den a couple of weeks ago who had a polyester fabric bag thingy that really worked for putting on the stockings and socks she was  nurse but didnt convince anyone to invest but i reckon any shiny / sliippery fabric made into a bag to go inside the sock would work

Thanks all...maybe the problem is my lovely wife has too many pairs of earings to choose from!

Didn't you know that a lady cannot have too many earrings, shoes or purses? lol.

A couple of times I have found myself doing a no-no , scaring myself but so far no problems--- certainly makes me aware of of not doing it again!!

I , for one, love my sock puller-oner. But boy do I need toenail rescue after 8 wks of recovery.

So, keep making an effort to stick by the rules and do not fall! Best wishes
