I hope the treatment works well for you; it did for me. I started to feel better within just a few days. Watch your food intake though. You may have lost weight quite quickly because of your hyperthyroidism, but the carbimazole slows your metabolism down fairly quickly and you can gain weight just as quickly by thinking you can carry on eating what you like. That was a big mistake for me, so just be careful. Best of luck.

Watch also for signs of low thyroid. I sometimes change back and forth rather quickly.

Hi Sue. The treatment worked very quickly for me too.I lost a lot of weight when I was hyper. I had treatment with radioactive iodine just over three years ago, and I feel fine. I still haven't put all the weight back on that I lost, so weight gain isn't inevitable. Just keep an eye on your weight and blood levels, and you'll be fine. smile
