Hi,

I've been diagnosed with Spondylolisthesis & I'm not sure if I should have the injections or the surgery. Is there anyone who has suffered from this & had to contemplate injections or surgery? Any advice is welcome.......

Thanks in advance

I sleep pec & fell on ice 4 years & 6 months ago. I had to wait 4 years to see a surgeon. I had cortisone injections in my spine for 3 years. I would have never been able to take the pain without the injections. They would help for 7 to 8 weeks. Our health care system allowed me to have injections every 3 months. I finally saw the surgeon in December & have had a spinal fusion a month ago. I had L3, L4, L5 & SI joint fused with two 5 inch rods & 8 screws. I can walk, stand, lay down without the excruciating pain I had lived with for 4 years & 5 months. I'm in pain from the surgery & my legs hurt, my whole body hurts due to laying in bed for 3 years & 9 months weigh your options try cortisone first to see if it lasts a long time for you. Are you able to live with cortisone only. Only you can decide for yourself whether or not you need surgery. I had no choice it was stay the way I was & maybe go paralyzed or have surgery & maybe have a life. The latter won out & I feel like a million dollars.
