The patches seem to be following lines of pressure from clothes maybe? Do you live in a hot country or are prone to sweating a lot? My guess is that they are Tinea Versicolor which is caused by a fungal infection.
You could try washing your body in a dandruff shampoo or getting some skin cream with Clotrimazole as the active ingredient and use it on the affected area nightly.
Even if they disappear they are prone to reappearing later.
Hope that helps but if they are increasing and bother you then a doctors opinion should be sought. Do they spread across your back?
Please note...this is only a guess, and others may have different ideas.
