So yesterday afternoon I went down on my ankle awkwardly as I was getting off the last stair and rolled my ankle. I fell completely down and struggled to walk after, the swelling was pretty obvious under my tights and socks as it looked like a tennis ball. I instantly put on ice and elevated my leg on a table, I sat like that for a good 2+ hours before heading back to my hotel. At this point i could bare weight as long as i was using the heel of my foot.
Fast forward a day ive been in my hotel room resting it up all day, keeping it elevated and iced, I have recently bandaged it (thanks to the receptionist at the hotel) and have only been out once to the shop to get some tablets and food in. I can now put weight on my foot and walk, slowly but still limping. it doesnt hurt but generally feels uncomfortable.
i can point my toes to the ceiling fine and point them down, I also tried to write the alphabet with my toe which I did fine but felt a little stiff.
I still have swelling - a lot off it, mainly round the back of my ankle, the front has gone down loads. its now starting to come out a bit bruised with some black/blue flecks in places. There isnt a lot of pain when pressing down on it with my fingers, only a slight pain under my ankle bone near the sole of my foot.
Just wondering if this sounds more like a sprain or a fracture? I've never sprained my ankle before so not sure the difference. With how it feels walking small distances today im hoping itll be a lot better tomorrow if I continue to RICE.
