Feeling sorry what doctors are doing to you. you should stop taking that medicine and try to consult some other doctor for survival. Doctors have responsibility to save us and what they are doing in uk. I wish you will get well soon and spend a healthy happy life ahead.

I'm doind better not I have taken control than what I had done with Doctors over the last 20 years, I have had to get angry about the way I was treated to get a knee replacement, I had that done after 10 years of pain in February , that was such a relief to get rid of the pain and be able to walk normally, the surgeon was lovely and it was him that found an infection I had been complaining about to my Doctors for years, It has come back again but I know why and either Doctors can't find it of they give me antibiotics, I don't want antibiotics all the time, I just want the problem put right, and that I am sure was because of a bladder susspention operation I had, what make me angry is I asked if there could be problems with this and was assured it was very rare it at all, They need to send me back to the surgeon who did that operation but they just seem to want to do thier own investigation, I have lost all confidence in there abillity to do any good for me, I maybe should be brave and let them poke me about but if you had suffered the things I have I think you would understand, I think I would rather see a witch doctor lol, but I go and see the knee surgeon this month and will ask for his help, he is easy to talk to and just might speak to my Doctors for me, changing doctors is not an option for me.

We have to get heard no matter who's petition we sign, we should have our own web paige where we can have the petition on the paige maybe one of you is clever enough to do this?

I stopped taking Simvastatin because of depression and suicidal thoughts and hostile behaviour so my GP put me on a low dose Atorvastatin but I went back into bad depression.

If I didn't stop statins I am sure i would have taken my own life and I will never take them again.

I get my CoEnzyme Q10 from Simply supplements online about £17 for 60 300 mg capsules free postage.

Depression is a symptom of these drugs, I still suffer with depression very bad at times, hope you get back to normal, the Q10 is it the ubiquinol one cos thats the one that helped me and I pay over £20 at my health food store?

All drugs have side effects and the selection of meds I am on for Dilated Cardiomyopathy cause tiredness and weight gain but depression is unbearable, i also get depression from Bisiprolol a beta blocker but not as severe as with statins.

Thanks for responding as i am not getting any feedback on the Cardiomyopathy discussions and I feel a need to chat about it with other people in similar circumstances.

My partner suffered a stroke a few weeks ago. His speech was affected but his memory and ability to formulate sentences was not impaired. Then he started taking statins (cholesterol was 6). He quickly developed problems focussing on what he was saying, losing the thread of sentences, forgetting names and several aches and pains he didn't have before. We started researching statins - I already knew about many of the problems from friends - and were horrified. No-one had suggested he should supplement with CoQ10 (Ubiquinol) we found this out from a website. When we asked both the gp and the stroke consultant, they knew nothing whatsoever about CoQ10, and dismissed our comments about it. The GP had 'never heard' of the memory loss side effect. My partner has now stopped statins - we haven't mentioned this to the doctors - we're just going to see how it goes. How can we possibly trust doctors when they don't even know as much as we have found out quite easily on the internet? Their arrogance was staggering because neither of them even asked how we found out, so they could look up the information for themselves. We're signing the petition now! Incidentally, I read that the manufacturers of both Simvastatin and another statin drug were licenced to ADD CoQ10 to their tablet, but don't do so (presumably because of cost) but surely this proves they know it's necessary yet don't inform the consumer.

I was on them for over 10 years and although I have been off them for a few years still have problem, and some of them wont ever go away. Thank god youe husband came off them, there are other ways to control cholesterol naturally, I knew they knew about Q10 but your right they dont add it and to tell you the truith I don't think it would stop all the side effect but it was a life saver for me because what I went through with just the weakness and pain was very bad and all the other problems, I still don't sleep right at night and depression comes and goes, the fluttering that developed in my heart is the thing that really worries me and I still haven't had an explanation for that but I have tried.
