I am a female and I am paranoid I have GC (Gonorrhea std). I have had 2 tests, both returned negative. The first test was a cervical gram stain test, however I had the test done approx 24 hours after being prescribed with 400g of cefditoren pivoxil and 1g Zithromax. The doctor said the test would be only 80% accurate due to the antibiotics o had taken.
Because of this I decided to get retested 1 week after taking the antibiotics. This time I went for a PCR urine test. This also came back negative.
What I am asking is, do you think the negative result of these tests is accurate? Or will the use of antibiotics have a massive effect on the test result? I am extremely anxious that I have an STD. I didn’t have unprotected sex but had unprotected genital to genital contact.
Thanks
