still a bit worried

Hello again, My husband is due to have op on 26th May(can't wait), however, over this weekend he has suffered pain in usual gallbladder area behind ribs and in the back. This time though he has had severe bloating which he has had before, but he has also suffered  painful sore stomach, a bit like I would say very chronic acid . He says it feels like someone has gone through it with a wire brush. Has anyone else had this and what did they do to try and alleviate it. I gave him some omeprazole but we are waiting for that to kick in.

I am always abit sore in my stomach after I get an attack. I find honey and cutting back on the food(even more than before..i know) alleviates some of my symptoms and helps. Hope he gets better soon.

Best way to soothe a stomach cramp is to lie down on your back with your legs up against the wall or the couch. Crouch down in the fetal position like a ball.

There is a relationship between gallbladder problems and acid reflux. You'll know after the surgery.

For future reference (which will be especially useful after his surgery) please use slippery elm powder. You should be able to find it from health stores. Mix a teaspoon with warm water, stir thoroughly and drink (it's tasteless). It does wonders for preventing diarrhea or stomach cramps as it coats your entire digestive tract with a gooey slimy substance. This will be your best friend after surgery. It also works very well against acid reflux if he develops it after the surgery. Good luck
