Still side effects at 6 months???

Hi All. Well its been 6 months now and initially my side effects were bad but they gradually faded and I felt fine, apart from a bit apathetic which is why I swopped over from the generic to the original Prozac 20mg. The swap happened about 9 weeks ago and I am convinced that I have had a repeat of all my initial side effects but perhaps just at a lower intensity. However, I am sitting with a very annoying dizzy, lightheaded feeling every single day now as well as very bad tinnitus. I have done so many blood tests and they all come back normal. My Doc seems to think its unlikely to still be the medication but if all else is normal what else can it be? I am due to see a Tinnitus specialist on the 3rd of November but would appreciate any input before then. The dizziness has definitely gotten worse as well as the tinnitus. Mood wise I am in a bit of a dip but maybe because I am on a short course of antibiotics for a respiratory infection and have not been exercising. Thanks again for your input.

It took me about 8 months to lose all side effects so it sounds normal to me. Have they checked for a simple ear infection at all?

Thank you lookingonwards. I have. I have been to the ENT and he did a vacuum, checked my ears and have also had a hearing test. I am hoping it will dissipate soon as it is actually making my anxiety worse right now.

it only took me about 4 months for the side effects to let up, so honestly maybe just give it a little more time and if it’s not working, i would advise trying a different medication. all antidepressants affect every single person differently so you never know! it took me 3 different antidepressants over a 4 year span to find a good one (which i’m now coming off of because it’s making me worse)

follow your gut instinct. if you feel like you should stop taking it or something isn’t right, talk to your doctor. always listen to your gut!
