hi I'm new to this site, I'm 5 weeks post op after a prolapse bowel /repair do a little walking or standing and it feels as if my prolapse has returned . Uncomfortable most of the time, putting on loads of weight due to lack of exercise I guess? Feeling very depressed and just want to get back to normal . It seems no one understands how I feel they say I look fine but I don't feel it. Have stopped taking lactose as found it wasent working for me just piling on more weight due to its sugar content, have got some powder to mix with water now from dr find this is helping. Just wondering if I should of had the op as still feel prolapsed .

I'm so sorry, I hope you start feeling better soon. I am almost 2 weeks post op (rectocele, cystocele and labiaplasty) and am finally feeling better. I'm trying to only take miralax to help soften stools. Just make sure you rest plenty.

im glad you are feeling better after the op I guess we all heal when our bodies are ready to. I'm just anxious and worry hat I may have overdone things as I so want to get back to normal going to join slimming world tomorrow in the hopes of shedding some weight maybe that will make a difference ?

I feel much the same (I'm 4 weeks in). I took docs advice on laxatives but should have followed my instincts (it's a long term problem for me so I know what works what doesn't). Has taken me over a week of some serious concoctions (there are some you can mix and others you can't) to get "things" moving. Working from Google and similar forums, I think it is quite common to feel depressed after surgery. I feel dreadful. Doesn't help that I look well. I'm really worried I've undone the op, and about going back to work, and everyone is a bit bored that Ive had an operation. Hang in there, other posters say it gets better!

Yes I agree with you I guess it will take a few more weeks for things to get healed and swelling to go down, I'm just a bit inpatient and a bit anxious that I may have over done things don't see the hospital specialist until Feb so maybe return to work then .

i hope you soon feel better .
