    hi ruth.

this symptom has been the worst for me ....wind and Neasuea with loose and constipated bowel. it comes and goes but it is getting lesser as time goes on....

i was belching constantly and got a scope down to see if anything was wrong but all is fine.

This is part of the course so hang tight. Keep checking in here for support. CK

Yes, Ruth same here. I am constipated often. My stomach cramps a lot too. I am nervous about taking stool softeners because they sometimes gripe me. I am glad to know that this is what sometimes happens during menopause. I was fearing the worst.

Yes.. I have had terrible cramps before my period which I never has before-- just started this year! But this time no cramps so I'm wondering if it's because I've changed my diet some. IDK

    Hi Ruth,

Yes, I also get terrible stomach cramps. I have been in peri for about 5 years. I also have GERD and between that and all the other peri symptoms, I often think I'm going crazy. I feel best when I haven't eaten (I know I can't keep this up, of course). As soon as I eat I get stomach/abdominal cramping and bloating. I no longer have a gallbladder and that contributes, too. I recently visited my doctor and she said with declining hormones digestive issues (either pre-existing or new due to peri) can become very bothersome. My doctor prescribed low dose BHRT, suggested a paleo diet lifestyle change, taking a digestive enzyme before each meal (eating smaller meals throughout the day), and recommended taking 750mg of magnesium daily and doing light exercise such as walking.

I am hoping this will provide relief as I am really frustrated with feeling poorly all the time. It interferes with my daily activities and I just want to feel normal again. I am sorry you are going through this. I hope you feel better soon. Hugs--Sarah
