Stomach muscle exercise

Hi I'm 6 weeks post op vaginal hysterectomy and prolapse repairs. On the while my recovery has gone very well. However whilst my walking seems to be going very well yesterday I pushed a shopping trolley and my abdomen was uncomfortable the same when I tried to do A BIT of hoovering. Anyone reccomend any exercises to strengthen my muscles?

    Hi there, your tummy will feel like this for some time I'm afraid, I am almost 4 months post vaginal hysterectomy and if I push something such as a heavy shopping trolley or in my case today a wheelbarrow my tummy complained bitterly, 6 weeks is still very early days. As regards to abdominal exercises it would be best to ask a physio or your GP.

    There are very few that have had a vagional hysterectomy, that I've talked to. What week did your tummy swelling seem to go down? I feel bloated all the time.

      It still hasn't really though over the past couple of weeks I haven't noticed it quite as much, when I saw my consultant at my 6 weeks check he said that it can take anything up to a year 😕! It's your body's way of protecting itself.
