Hi all,

Im happy to report that I have stopped taking prozac . It has been three weeks now, and I am still feeling ok. My weight has stablized. Just some side effects leftover - tinnitus at night especially when I turn my head from sideways while on bed I hear some water noise in my head. I hope that will come off soon.

Hi Star, I took them for 12 weeks. If you feel that your depression is fixed then you can try to discontinue prozac. I am still having mild anxiety that I control with rivotril at night. I discontinued prozac because of side effects : 10 pounds weight gain, feeling blood flow not well all over body, fluid flowing sound in brain, insomnia.

Hi peter I am so happy for you.  Just an FYI I got off prozac in June (felt totally normal and ok and was thinking I did great!) and all of s sudden in October I had a 100% set back. To the point of going on medical leave -They say I’f you have a true chemical imbalance you will have terrible withdrawals weeks to months later. I had to go bAck in it.

This isn’t everybody! This was just me. So please know I am totally rooting for you! But Incase this happens at least you know you have support! smile. Keep going and don’t look back! smile

Tina, thx. I think I am at the point where my brain chemistry is just marginally sufficient to keep me out of depression. I hope I will never have to go back. I will keep my emotion at peace by mediation and praying.

      Hi Tina,

What are the symtoms when depression come back ?

It is my fourth week now without fluoxentine. Since yesterday, I have severe upper back pain , headache, nausea, and ringing in ears.

Im not sure what it is.

I am feeling unwell and irritated.

I first new I was having adverse reaction to getting off meds when I got stomach sick. Everyone though it was a big but I knew better. I vomited and went to the ER. Then I got bad sinus colds then I got bad diarrhea so 3 weeks I was getting sick all the time and while this happened my panic kept increasing. Then I realized I think I’m having withdrawals from

Meds. Nausea, feeling fear and scared, always anxious, sweating, diarrhea, couldn’t control my panic anymore. I did hve ringing in my ears and neck and back pain. I still have it.

I don’t like hearing that you feel this way. I hope it’s not withdrawals but it very well could be.

Did you taper off? I tapered too but it still effected me cuz I’ll always need meds.

      How are you right now?

Hi Tina, I took Amitriptyline and rivotril last night, I was feeeling better this morning but I started to have one additional symptom today - panic attack, besides the back pain, headache, tinnitus. Mood is ok but easily irritated. I am out of meds now. I dont know if I can tolerate 8 days since my next med appointment is jan 10. Since I am having pain, I also start to have obsessive thoughts that I have cancer or hiv. Is that my mind playing tricks on me ?

ive never heard of those meds. are the benzos? glad they helped a little. hopefully they will get you through withdrawls. cant you order new meds? or do you have to see doctor first? are you in the US?

obsessive thoughts can be quite normal when you have anxiety and panic. try not to entertain them and just think ' the are not facts just stupid thoughts" thats what we learned it CBT. ok. lm having a rough night to so im trying to take meds to get to sleep. lets hope. let us know how your doing
