I'm not sure what that could be but you could dial the 111 NHS number and a nurse or doctor will call you back to talk about your symptoms.  I've done it a few times before. Good luck.

I would just take a couple of paracetamol at periods up to 8 per day for a day - and then see how you feel. Your neck might just be stiff by sitting at the PC in one position for too long. I am just speaking as one who has suffered long-term from stiff necks. Do yo have an Intermediate Treatment Team where you live or mae an appoinment with your GP (or both).

Specialist for what. If you want ask to see a psychologist or a counsellor. In the NHS you only see a psychiatrist if you have a breakdown. If you are really concerned you can give the Samaritans a call.

You say that you are going back to the docs this week - what were you seeing the doctor for the last time - you imply that you have already been to them about the same problem?.

    Hi Nicola

I see from another thread that you started that you have been diagnosed with vestibular neuritis.I know nothing about this and therefore as I didn't know what your condition was nothing that I have said can be relied upon. I have found these notes on it on this website.

If you have vestibular neuritis I have found I bet stiff necks and sometime do feel like I have a virus.  no gp or consultant seems to have the answer, but a lot of,people complain of this.  I personally think the stiff neck thing comes fro unconsciously keeping your balance all day. And especially later In theDay such as now I feel the need for a pillow at the back of my head, neck area, and one of those heated pillows helps.  I also take Lemsips as they seem to help for some reason!  Also computers don,t help bit I,ve found since I got an iPad that I can use onmy lap and sit back, my neck,s not so bad.

    Hi Nicola

My neck is always stiff and hurts. I think it is because we don't move our heads around as much as most people do. I get bad headaches. No sweats.
